Competition refresher magazine  published this article page 47 the indian space research organization (isro) launched the next generation navigation satellite nvs-1 on 29 may at 10.42 am.the spacecraft is part of the navigation with indian constellation (navic) series which aims to provide surveillance and navigational capabilities.the nvs-1 weighing approximately 2232 kg will be launched by a gslv f12 rocket from the second launch pad at satish dhawan space centre sriharikota.the nvs series of satellites will maintain and enhance navic with advanced features. navic provides two services a standard positioning service for civilian users and a restricted service for strategic users.after this mission india will join the list of three other countries of the world. the satellite will be injected into the geosynchronous transfer orbit approximately 20 minutes after launch competition refresher magazine subscription.
